President David Feldman & the Future of BKFC.

BKFC News

Brian Soscia and BKFC president David Feldman met up this week to catch up on what has been going on in the BKFC world lately. We broke down the 11-minute conversation to inform you what the boss had to talk about.

BKFC 12

The president showed great excitement about the fight-card that took place on September 11th in Florida. “It was by far from top to bottom the best fight card we ever had. Me as a fan I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, it was tremendous, kudos to our match-maker Nate for matching that card, it was phenomenal.”

When asked about the fight-of-the-night award and how that decision was made, Feldman responded: “We all get together as a team and say, who do you think deserves the fight-of-the-night as a team? With that being said, Joel Elmore vs Tom Shoef I think they just gave every last ounce that they had in their bodies to the fans that night and without a doubt deserve to have the fight-of-the-night honor.” Feldman also added that other fighters could have won the award, “Another possible fight of the night could have been Julian Lane vs Thiago Alves in the main event, it was just a bloodbath and a great fight as well and Julian did a lot better than a lot of people thought he could have done; most people thought he won the fight so it was a great fight there”

Bareknuckle.tv app

Due to the high volume of new subscriptions and simultaneous loggins, the bareknuckle.tv app crashed, not allowing many subscribers to loggin ultimately causing frustration and many complaints.

“We had some issues with the app, we launched the bareknuckle.tv app to host all of our BKFC events moving forward and we had so many people logging in at the beginning of the event, we had some technology issues. All those technology issues are fixed now, everybody will be able to watch these events.”

Feldman also brought out news that bareknuckle.tv has partnered with Toe The Line and will promote one event per month, using the organization as a feeder to BKFC. “We have added the Toe The Line series, which is kind of like a feeder to BKFC where we are going to find these guys who we want to build into future BKFC stars. That’s going to be a monthly series as well and it will be available at the bareknuckle.tv app; So now you have at least one BKFC every month and at least one Toe The Line event every month as well.”

Paige Vanzant

Paige Vanzant surprised the combat sport world when announcing she would be transitioning from MMA to Bare Knuckle Fighting. Feldman spoke on the topic.“The signing with Paige got a ton of media attraction, a ton of traction from all combat sports lovers, some love it, some don’t but that’s okay, we are used to that in bare knuckle fighting. Some people like it, some people don’t but we are teaching them to like it more and more as we are going to teach them more and more to understand that Paige Vanzant can fight in this sport; she could really do anything she wants.” Feldman also spoke about when Vanzant is expected to debut. “We don’t have a specific date set yet but we are hoping for later 2020, could be early 2021; we are just going to see how her progress goes, this is a little bit different than what she has been used to. She has been training with some really good trainers in South Florida and as soon as she is ready we will announce the fight.”

New Coming Fighters

BKFC recently signed two exciting British bare knuckle fighters. Feldman spoke on Mark Godbeer and Tyler Goodjohn. “Mark Godbeer, this guy has fought everybody, anywhere, he has fought in every big organization, he has also fought bare knuckle before, he just won a big bare knuckle tournament and will be making his debut hopefully on the November card.

We also signed fan-favorite over there, everybody loves this guy, probably one of the best bare knuckle boxers in the world right now and that is Tyler Goodjohn who will also be making his debut hopefully in November, we just have to see all the travel restrictions and how that is working out but we would like to bring both of these guys over by the end of this year.”

BKFC 13

BKFC will take place on October 10th in Salina, KS and it promises to deliver another exciting card and continue the positive momentum the organization is riding. CEO Feldman talked about the upcoming event which features a heavyweight title fight between the champion Joey Beltran versus Marcus Stamp. “Joey Beltran will be defending his heavyweight belt against former University of Alabama line-backer, former MMA fighter, currently 2-0 in bare knuckle fighting Marcus Stamps; that’s going to be a hell of a heavyweight championship.” Feldman also took the opportunity to highlight boxing olympic medalist Nico Hernandez who will be fighting in the co-main event, “Let's talk about Nico Hernandez and the significance of that signing. Here is a 2016 olympic medalist, I believe he is 6-0 or 8-0 in professional boxing, the future is bright for him and he chose to cross the path and come over to bare knuckle fighting. That just tells you not only the fans are digging what we are doing, but also fighters from all different walks of combat sport are taking the plunge and coming over to bare knuckle fighting.”
