Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has suddenly shaken the world of combat sports allowing fans to spectate raw fighting without the use of gloves, literally bare knuckle. Since 1889 bare knuckle fighting has been illegal in America but after receiving approval to hold sanctioned events in multiple states. Tables turned, action was on and now the sport instantaneously catches the attention of combat sport lovers for its raw brutality, mix of technical boxing and street fighting. As of now the BKFC roster showcases an interesting mix of unknown upcoming fighters and experienced MMA, UFC, Bellator and Boxing veterans, plus an exciting female division.
The most recent event featured former UFC title contender Thiago Alves who battled a bloody split decision win over Julian Lane. UFC and Bellator middle-weight veteran Hector Lombard knocked out the also UFC/Bellator veteran Kendall Grove in round one, earning his second victory in two fights for BKFC at 205 lbs. The event also showcased many other exciting battles; highlight to Joe Elmore vs Tom Shoaff for keeping viewers on the edge of their seats for 5, 2-minute rounds of pure knuckle fighting! Elmore having his arms raised in a well-deserved Unanimous decision.
Fans from around the world have to now wait until October 10th for the next BKFC event which takes place in Salina, KS. The event headliner is a heavyweight title clash between MMA veteran Joey Beltran who looks to defend his BKFC heavyweight belt versus undefeated BKFC Marcel Stamps (3-0 record).
