BKFC Knucklemania Fight By Fight Breakdown
Haim Gozali (BKFC debut) vs John McAllister (0-4)
Haim Gozali will make his BKFC debut vs John McAllister who is in search of his first BKFC win in five fights. Gozali is a veteran of combat sports with a 13-6 record in MMA while riding a 5 fight win streak, he comes into BKFC confident for a debut. Will age be a problem for the 47 year old fighter? In this sport I would say so but for this fight Gozali will come in extremely confident holding the advantage over McAllister who has failed to impress in his previous bouts. The great thing about this organization is that Nate Shook and David Feldman always give fighters another chance to prove themselves, as long as they stay committed, show up, make weight and put on a great show for the fans!
Greg Bono (debut) vs John Chalbeck (debut)
Interesting fight to keep our eyes on here as both these guys will be making their debut in BKFC. There is not much about either of them other than some youtube videos. Chalbeck has a professional MMA record, he is undefeated at 4-0 and by looking at his record, he seems to be able to do it all (strike, submit). Greg Bono is a boxer with not much information on his fighting background, he does have some fight videos on youtube that shows some boxing skills and a tremendous heart. Both fighters come from the BKFC tryouts and are ready to showcase their skills, both looking to prove that they belong in this organization.
Zach Zane (debut) vs Martin Brown (1-0)
Zach Zane will make his BKFC debut against Martin Brown. Both fighters are experienced MMA fighters with many wins under their belts. Zane has fought in the big stages like Bellator and Brown at Titans FC. Brown is coming off a TKO win at Toe The Line 2 where he looked dominant against Juan Pina. Zane will have to look out for the heavy left hand of Brown and his tendency to smell blood when the opponent is hurt. There has been lots of ‘bullying’ from Brown’s part on social media but very little response from Zane, let’s see how this plays out inside the squared circle on February 5th.
Jarod Grant (2-0) vs Malo Lambert (debut)
Everyone should be looking forward to this fight, Malo Lambert is a dangerous, committed, experienced, confident fighter coming in this organization to make some noise. He was given for a debut the youngest fighter to sign with BKFC, Jarod Grant who is currently undefeated with 2 impressive wins. We spoke to Malo at our first Podcast and learned plenty about his background and we were very impressed to learn that he is 37 years old and has plenty of fight experience coming from a Muay Thai background. Lambert is surrounded by great coaches such as King Mo and Brazlian boxing coach De Oliveira. Grant is coming off two wins inside BKFC already, he really knows how to implement his own boxing game into the bare knuckle world. Grant also displayed great heart in his last fight when he got up after being knocked down to finish his opponent. There will be a huge height advantage for Lambert in this fight which might be something Grant could struggle with. This is a huge test for Grant who is patiently eying an eventual title shot at BKFC’s most talented division. We really can’t wait to see this fight go down.
David Morgan (debut) vs Travis Thompson (1-2)
David Morgan will meet with Travis Thompson at Knucklemania for a debut fight and he has no easy opponent ahead. Don’t be fooled by Thompson’s negative record, the man has only fought the best at BKFC. Both his losses come from top caliber fighters and Thompson gave both those fighters a fight. He also showed so much heart in his first BKFC win when he came back from being in deep waters to earn the W - comebacks are rare in this sport, it takes a strong mind and lots of heart to do so. There is not much info on Morgan, all I could find was some footage on social media of him training for this fight and he does look sharp hitting the pads. Morgan will have to be impressive in order to come out victorious from this battle ahead as Thompson proved many times that he is a tough opponent.
Rob Morrow (0-1) vs Lorenzo Hunt (3-1)
Lorenzo Hunt has got to be a fan-favorite and also a ‘bkfc-favorite’, he is fighting for the 3rd time since September and even shows up to events he is not fighting at! Hunt has clear intentions in this organization, he wants an eventual belt and he won’t say ‘no’ to any fight. This will be a great fight for Morrow to come back into the organization after a brutal loss to Gustavo Trujillo where he got KOd 35 seconds into the first round. Both guys actually have KO losses to Trujillo. Hunt is confident coming off back to back wins and knocking out both opponents in the first round. Morrow has taken a long break from BKFC and from combat sports in general since his loss to Trujillo, it has been almost 2 years since he last stepped inside the ring so ring-rust could be a problem, although he has been focused and training for a perfect comeback. His long MMA career and all the experience acquired throughout the year could be a path to finally have his arms raised inside the squared circle.
Chris Leben (2-1) vs Henry Quentin (2-0)
This is a huge candidate for fight of the night, possibly fight of the year. MMA legend Chris Leben will meet with rising BKFC star Henry Quentin for a battle in the 205 division. These guys will leave it all inside the ring, that is for sure. Leben has confirmed that this is his ‘goodbye’ fight, he will be hanging the “gloves?” after this event and is obviously looking to go out on top. On the other side of the squared circle we got the upcoming star, Quentin Henry; a fan-favorite in BKFC Henry has serious plans in this sport and does not want the guy who will be going away forever to stop his rise. Henry is coming off two KO wins and is super confident, he is also now training practically full time; the results are clear, Henry looked much better in his last fight at BKFC 15 when he earned the first round win. Expect fireworks, expect both of these guys to come out strong and banging, it might really come down to who has the better chin and the bigger heart.
Dat Nguyen (2-0) vs (c)Johnny Bedford (5-0)
Johnny Bedford is the pound for pound king in BKFC at the moment. Nobody else has as many wins inside the squared circle like himself and on Feb 5th he puts his belt and perfect record on the line against the super exciting Vietnamese fighter Dat Ngueyn. Dat is a boxer and has reached success inside BKFC, brutally knocking out both guys who challenged him for a fist fight. Nguyen has said that he will finish Bedford in the first round which is no easy task for any men walking on earth, but that’s Dat’s promise to us. Bedford is not much of a talker and not very active on social media like most other guys, he works quietly but makes a lot of noise when it’s time to fight. This is one of those fights you don’t want to keep your eyes off the screen, both guys have what it takes to end it in a blink of an eye.
Paige VanZant (debut) vs Britain Hart (1-2)
Possibly the most expected fight of the year, MMA superstar Paige Vanzant will make her BKFC debut vs a very dangerous opponent in Britain Hart. There is not much to say about Vanzant when it comes to bare knuckle fighting since we have not seen her perform yet in BKFC, however, we all know Vanzant is a top caliber athlete who holds an extensive UFC career with many ups and downs. In her nine fights with the UFC, Vanzant was never knocked out, she did indeed knock out two of her opponents. Paige Vanzant is a tough striker, she hits the pads hard and can put together great combinations, at least in MMA she was able to do so, we will have to see how this transitions over to BKFC. Her opponent Britain Hart is transcending in confidence after putting on a perfect performance at BKFC 15 back in November right in front of Vanzant herself. Hart took the opportunity to call out Vanzant who walked up to the stage and accepted the fight. BKFC president David Feldman said himself at first they believed Hart was a little ‘too good’ for Vanzant’s debut. The organization was clearly looking for an easy fight to warm Paige up and promote her, however Hart cancelled those plans when she called Vanzant out. In my eyes there is no other fighter better than Hart to welcome Paige Vanzant into the organization.
